Group Lesson Photo Cost: The cost for all six weeks of lessons is only $25, or $20 if you have taken at least one lesson with The Swing Society in the past. We accept both cash or check (please make check payable to "The Swing Society at The University of Illinois"), but cannot accept any other form of payment.

Shoes/Dress: No special shoes are required for any of the lessons or any of the dances. We do recommend that you wear comfortable shoes that are easy to move around in. Likewise, no special clothes are required but we recommend you wear something comfortable to dance in.

Format: As common with many group dance classes, the instructors will have the class rotate so that each lead and each follow can dance with a variety of different leads and follows. By doing this, not only will you meet new people but each class with have at least two Teaching Assistants (TAs) in the rotation to aid in the teaching of the different moves.

More Information: A few commonly asked questions can be found in our frequently asked questions and a list of moves can be found here. Any other questions can be directed to our lessons chair at lessons@cu-swing.org

Private Dance Lessons:
Besides the group lessons listed above, The Swing Society also offers private lessons. The basic cost structure of a private lesson is $15 per instructor per hour for up to two people. Private lessons can be held by either one instructor or a pair of instructors (both a lead and a follow, for a total of $30 per hour for up to two people).
